CLINICAL OPERATIONS DIRECTOR

JOB INFORMATION

The Operations Director is responsible for overseeing the operations of a dynamic, evolving healthcare entity with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service, exceeding performance standards, and ensuring process efficiencies. S/he will be directly involved in creating, adapting and monitoring internal procedures while supervising specific departments and staff. This individual will also work closely with the organization’s leadership team to produce effective, balanced solutions that optimize operational processes.

The Operations Director exhibits exemplary decision quality and personal accountability and can build efficient teams while instilling trust in others. S/he demonstrates effective and impactful communication skills and can skillfully identify opportunities to create and/or optimize processes, delegate tasks, and promote accountability in others. S/he will be essential in enhancing the organization’s extensive capabilities and in ensuring exceptional execution for OptiMed’s diverse network of clients. This individual will work closely with staff and organizational leaders to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements and to mitigate risk.

S/he will also be committed to driving internal engagement and developing the talent of those individuals reporting to them.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The duties and responsibilities of the Operations Director include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the management of day to day operations including clinical care, staffing needs, resource utilization, and optimizing the use of technology or other tools that will promote care accuracy and efficiencies.
  • Develop and implement a program(s) to ensure the ongoing performance monitoring of our call center and customer service departments.
  • Establish clear performance goals and ensure staff accountability for meeting or exceeding established targets.
  • Develop and enhance employee training programs to complement the onboarding process.
  • Coach the staff on functional roles and tasks, as well as their ongoing professional development utilizing the Employee Performance Objectives (EPO) program.
  • Direct and oversee the implementation of product or service launches.
  • Work closely with the finance department to optimize opportunities to grow revenue.
  • Manage vendor relations for operational supplies and purchases.
  • Ensure organizational policies and procedures remain compliant with all applicable regulation, legislation, or contractual requirements.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of the company’s Quality and Performance Improvement Program.
  • Provide strategic planning and project management oversight.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Operations Manager directly supervises the call center/customer service departments, and its staff, with appropriate collaboration from other organizational leaders. This individual will report to the Chief Operating

Officer (COO).

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess strong clinical understanding, project management, and cross-group collaboration skills.

This individual must demonstrate the ability to plan and execute.

  • Must be able to maintain a strict level of confidentiality, demonstrate outstanding judgement, and be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must have ability to train, supervise, and evaluate multiple staff members.
  • Should be technologically savvy while working in programs such as Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and healthcare-related software.
  • Management experience in the healthcare and/or customer service industries strongly preferred.
  • Third-party billing and reconciliation process experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in compliance and quality assurance is strongly preferred.
  • PharmD and MBA or equivalent experience preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The Operations Director thrives in a fast-paced multi-tasking work environment. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk and perform work on a computer in an office environment.
