Job Description
Responsible for coding and abstracting discharge inpatient records for reimbursement and statistical purposes. Provide quality DRG assignment for accurate, optimal and timely hospital reimbursement. Demonstrates Service Excellence at all times. Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
High School Graduate or equivalent
Prefer RHIA, RHIT, CCS. Eligible for RHIA, RHIT, CCS, AAPC. Must Have Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology/Biology, Pathology. Two or more years of ICD-9-CM, and ICD 10 ; CPT-4(HCPCS) coding with a good knowledge of DRG optimization and Medicare ‘s rules and regulations.
