Job Description

A General Mechanic performs the following job duties:

  • Perform maintenance on hot/cold rolling mills, finishing equipment, and related machinery
  • Maintain and repair plant facilities and systems
  • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Knowledge of power transmission components
  • Welding and oxy/acetylene equipment operation
  • Operate mobile equipment such as fork truck, flat beds, cranes, etc.
  • Adjust, repair, lubricate and maintain plant equipment
  • Limited computer skills to order parts and input time, etc.
  • Pipefitting
  • Read, understand, and use blueprints

Qualifications

• Employee must be able to perform essential job functions of this department.
• High school or GED required.
• Candidate must meet journey-level qualifications and possess 3-5 years of solid industrial maintenance experience as a Millwright, Pipefitter, or Welder (or have equivalent experience of 5 years of verifiable work as a general Mechanic)
• Pass journey-level testing requirements.

Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
