Used Cardboard Boxes, Inc. (UCB) is a fast growing, national logistics / reuse / recycling / Zero Waste company based in Los Angeles, with operations all over the country. Our offices and production facilities are located across the country: Los Angeles, CA ; Hannibal, MO ; Milwaukee, WI ; Hunt Valley, MD … We buy quality USED cardboard boxes from some of the largest food/beverage manufacturers in the country (Berry Pharmaceuticals, General Mills, Keurig Coffee, Nestle, Pepsi, McCormick Spice, P&>, etc.)… after they unpack their supplies, from their vendors. We pay MORE than the recycling rate, because we don’t RECYCLE them; we REUSE them! We take those boxes, via tractor trailer, back to one of our regional sorting centers and sort, inspect and palletize those very same boxes for resale, for LESS than the wholesale price. We supply these (hand-inspected) truckloads of boxes to many of the largest retailers and distributors in the country (Walmart, Target, TJ Maxx/Marshalls, Big Lots, Goodwill, Sports Authority, Payless, Foot Locker, etc.). It’s a pretty awesome business model, that is taking the industry by storm!We are not only growing like crazy and expanding our operations nationwide.
We are also running recycling and reuse programs for multinational manufacturers plants, such as the McCormick plant in Hunt Valley, MD.

ABOUT THE JOB
We are looking for an experienced, dependable and reliable Production Manager to join our team. This is a full-time role with high responsibilities. If you are the right person, you will be working closely with both production employees and UCB management to ensure that the company maintains operational excellence. You will be in the heat of the action, working in a fast paced environment. Some of your daily responsibilities will include:
- Running all aspects of our production facility, including shipping and receiving, inventory management, production, machinery (balers, cutters, etc.) and human resources.
- Scheduling and coordinating of 20+ associates’ shifts.
- Interviewing, hiring, and training of new associates.
- Reporting and communicating with the corporate office and key high-level personnel via various channels to maximize the operation efficiency, productivity, and to ensure excellent customer service experience. This includes reviewing procedures, providing feedback, discussing new developments, etc.
- Carrying out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
The position requires the following skills:
- Supervision and surveillance skills.
- Safety and security management.
- Developing standards and managing processes.
- Inventory control.
- Equipment maintenance.
- Independent judgement.

YOU WILL BE A PERFECT FIT FOR THIS JOB IF…:
- You have at least 4 years of proven experience of facility management and operations in a production environment. (required)
- You possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
- You possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
- You are organized and you have a great attention to details.
- You are able to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- You have strong computer skills (Knowledge in MS Outlook, MS Word, Google Drive/Docs/Sheets, Skype and other online communication tools are required).
- You have a highly motivated, hard-working, dedicated, honest attitude, and a strong interest in taking on challenges everyday.
