Director, Payer and Employer Outreach – National Comprehensive Cancer Network – Plymouth Meeting, PA

Reporting to the Director, Policy and Advocacy, the Director, Payer and Employer Outreach is responsible for contributing to the overall development and implementation of payer and employer strategies, tactics and collaborations to support the advancement of the NCCN Mission and Vision and the relevance and influence of NCCN content. The Director is responsible for serving as point of contact with commercial (private) payers, Employers, PBMs, and ACOs, the commercialization of the NCCN family of Compendia and effectively serving as an internal advocate for payer interests and priorities. The position will participate in other related projects and perform other functions as may be required from time to time. This position requires occasional overnight travel.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for contributing to the overall development and implementation of payer and employer strategies, tactics and collaborations
  • Responsible for serving as point of contact with employers and private payers
  • Provide the payer point of view and priorities as part of market research, business development and marketing planning and other internal strategic planning processes
  • Collaborate and execute on strategies for and collaborations with payers and health information technology vendors working on behalf of payers for the commercial use of the NCCN Clinical Practice Guidelines in Oncology (NCCN Guidelines®) and/or the NCCN family of Compendia, including business development, subscriptions, contracting and management of ongoing relationships
  • Contribute to the development of payer and employer strategies and programs as determined by market environment for NCCN content relevance and influence, revenue generation and brand awareness
  • Manage the planning, organization, implementation and tracking of payer and employer strategies and programs
  • Manage related staff
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop and implement compelling and differentiated product value propositions for the commercialization of the NCCN family of Compendia
  • Identify rich market insights to inform comprehensive commercial strategies and aligned messaging across relevant stakeholders
  • Participate and Manage outreach and coordination of the NCCN Products & Services Committee and related activities
  • Participate and Manage outreach and coordination of the NCCN Employer Forum Committee and related activities
  • Participate and Manage outreach and coordination of the NCCN State Oncology Society Forum and related activities
  • Develop program budgets with accountability for achieving net revenue goals

EDUCATION/RELATED EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience within the not-for-profit, healthcare, managed care, pharmaceutical/biotech industry or equivalent preferred
  • Oncology experience preferred
  • Experience in translating strategy into tactical implementation and to motivate people to execute on strategy
  • Demonstrated credibility and relationships within the healthcare space, Payer environment preferred
  • Experience in account management or sales, working with Employers or Employer groups on Healthcare issues is a plus
  • Working knowledge of health insurance, health policy and healthcare reform
  • Demonstrated effectiveness working independently and in groups in a collegial manner, including cross functional teams and internal/external networking
  • Understand health information technology’s direction, trends and strategic business impact on implementation of payer policies and programs
  • General knowledge of contracting
