This Billing Analyst position within Optum is on the Centralized Billing Department working on Contract based billing. Responsibilities range from reading and setting up contracts with in PeopleSoft ERP, through execution of billing and working with various business partners to ensure that invoicing is accurate.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Review and set up of Contracts within our ERP
- Upload, review and reconcile large complex transaction file into the billing system
- Generate and validate Invoices
- Responsible for effectively researching, tracking and resolving billing problems and discrepancies
- Effectively communicate with business users and customers
- The Billing Specialist must be able to perform effectively in a high volume and fast paced production environment with a high degree of accuracy and productivity
- This individual should have the ability to perform required tasks independently as well as contribute as needed in a team environment
- Coordinate with multiple departments (ex. Accounting, Collections, etc.)
- High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
- 2+ years of billing experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot table, if then statements, vlookups), Microsoft Word (creating and editing documents), and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s Degree (or higher)
- PeopleSoft experience
- Billing experience and in particular contract billing
Soft Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong Analytical Skills
- Ability to multi – task and adjust schedules to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
- Assesses and interprets customer needs and requirements
