Responsibilities include primary support to the annual fundraising campaign (Friends of Scouting), our matching gifts program, and other workplace giving processes. Duties include use of prospect/donor database systems; preparation of thank you letters, pledge reminders, billings, and campaign reports; regularly scheduling of volunteer meetings and responding to questions from volunteers and staff; heavy data entry of donor pledges and payments, ringing money; daily deposits; processing of large mailings; and proofreading/editing, word processing, and other miscellaneous duties. The assistant is expected to attend occasional special events and meetings outside of the regular work schedule.
Qualifications include: Must have administrative assistant experience, with a minimum of four to five years or equivalent background preferred. Must have strong verbal and written communications skills. Must be able to enter, manipulate and read data. Must be a team player, problem solver, dependable, accurate, and detail oriented. Must be able to multi-task and handle frequent interruptions in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to adapt to changing technology, maintain confidentiality, and exercise judgment. Physical requirements include keyboarding, sitting for long periods, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
Will be trained in customized databases as needed (including ScoutNet and e-Tapestry). Required software skills: Excel, Word, and Outlook. Preferred software skills: PowerPoint, Access, and Publisher. Advanced keyboarding and layout skills are needed, with a speed of at least 50 words per minute. Online assessments will be conducted of top candidates to measure software skills.
Applicants from diverse backgrounds and/or who have multilingual skills are encouraged to apply. Experience with Scouting or other youth organization as a youth or adult is helpful though not required.
The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 5:00 PM. Occasional overtime may be needed.

The starting salary range is $15.87 to $16.35 per hour, depending on qualifications. Increases are based on performance.
