1.Average number of patients will round on in a 12 hour period = 20
a.The night hospitalist doesn’t round, only admits from the hours of 9p-7a.
2.Hospitalists will rotate a 7a-7p shift, 9a-9p shift and also a 7p to 7am shift.
3.We do have a Rapid Response Team – The only procedures that would be needed is intubation during a code. But we will always have somebody who is able to do that. Resp therapists help, anesthesia can be called, ER physician can come up & do it. Central lines in the middle of the night can be done by the surgical resident if emergency. If it can wait till next day, they can do a PICC line.
4.All other procedures will be done by interventional radiologist under CT or sono guidance .
5.We have all specialists available. Needs to be confident running a code.
