Ophthalmic Assistant

OPHTHALMIC ASSISTANT – Exciting career opportunity for someone interested in working in the medical field. We offer on the job training to qualified candidates interested in studying to become a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA). COA’s work under the supervision of physicians to perform clinical duties. A medical background is helpful, but not required. This is a challenging position with opportunities for advancement. Experience is preferred, but not required. We will train the right candidate. Salary is commensurate with experience. Hours are Monday through Friday with NO WEEKENDS

For this FULL TIME position in our busy and fast paced practice, we are looking to add a focused, upbeat and caring candidate who can efficiently and effectively multitask. Our ideal candidate will be a team player with compassion and strong communication skills. Responsibilities include performing patient work ups, charting patient visits in our electronic medical records system, pre-screening exams and advanced screening tests; assisting the physician with in-office medical procedures; and providing patient education.
