We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Health Information Management (HIM) Manager to join our team in the medical industry. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual with strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of health information data. The HIM Manager will oversee the daily operations of the Health Information Management department, ensuring the efficient and compliant management of patient health information.
Responsibilities:
As the HIM Manager, you will be responsible for:
1. Overseeing the daily operations of the Health Information Management department, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
2. Managing the analysis, completion, and dissemination of health information within the organization.
3. Supervising and training department staff, ensuring high-quality performance and adherence to industry standards.
4. Collaborating with other departments to streamline processes and improve patient care through the effective use of health information.
5. Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient records and coding, utilizing EMR systems.
6. Implementing and overseeing quality assurance programs related to health information management.
7. Regularly reviewing and updating department procedures and protocols to maintain efficiency and compliance.
8. Assisting in the development and implementation of strategic plans for the HIM department.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the HIM Manager position will have:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or a related field.
2. A minimum of 1 years of experience in Health Information Management.
3. RHIA (Registered Health Information Administrator), RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician), or CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) certification.
4. Proficiency in the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
5. Strong leadership and team management skills.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
7. A thorough understanding of health information management principles and practices, including medical coding, health data standards, and healthcare privacy laws.
8. Superior organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
9. A commitment to maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
